Anti-Harassment & Discrimination Policy

At Zumevu Ventures, we are committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive professional environment. We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment based on sexual orientation, race, religion, age, nationality, gender identity, or any other characteristic. Equality is a core value that guides us both as a company and as individuals.

This policy applies to all Zumevu Ventures employees, including our Partners, as well as to non-employees who interact with us in any professional capacity. This includes entrepreneurs, clients, limited partners (LPs), customers, vendors, and any other business partners. Zumevu Ventures expects everyone connected to our ecosystem to uphold these standards. We also encourage the entrepreneurs we collaborate with to adopt similar principles within their own organizations.

Harassment includes, but is not limited to:

  • Comments or actions that reinforce social hierarchies or discrimination related to gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, appearance, body size, race, age, religion, social background, marital status, family care responsibilities, or medical leave status.
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following someone.
  • Inappropriate or unwelcome physical contact.
  • Unwanted sexual attention.
  • Harassing photography or recording.
  • Encouraging or advocating any of the above behaviors.

Harassment may take many forms such as slurs, jokes, offensive statements, gestures, assault, blocking movement, or other behaviors that interfere with someone’s work. If asked to stop harassing behavior, compliance is expected immediately.

What is Discrimination?

Discrimination refers to unfair or biased treatment that denies opportunities or affects decisions regarding selection, promotion, or transfer. Common grounds for discrimination include age, disability, ethnicity, origin, political beliefs, race, religion, sex, and other factors unrelated to an individual’s ability or suitability for the role.

Reporting Procedure

We encourage everyone to promptly report any behavior that violates this policy. If you or someone else feels unsafe or unwelcome, please reach out as soon as possible. Harassment and discrimination undermine our community and our work.

Personal Report:
Contact anyone on our team you trust. All reports will be handled confidentially by our Operating Partner. We will ensure a safe, private setting for you to share your experience. You may bring a support person, and you will not be asked to confront anyone. Your identity will be protected, and no action will be taken without your consent.

Taking Action

Upon receiving a report, we will promptly discuss the matter internally to decide on the best course of action. All information will be treated with strict confidentiality. The purpose of the investigation is to determine whether this policy has been breached.

Possible outcomes may include removal from our network, a formal warning, or training on unconscious bias and workplace behavior. We will inform all parties involved about the actions taken. If a crime or legal violation is suspected, we will involve the relevant authorities.

Zumevu Ventures is dedicated to maintaining a workplace where everyone feels respected and valued. Together, we can ensure a professional environment free from harassment and discrimination.
